SUMMARY:IGF Young Artist short concert: Eva Victoria Schockmel
DESCRIPTION:Eva Victoria Schockmel (Luxembourg\, 2001) earned her Bachelor’s Degree with highest distinction from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of Gabriel Bianco. She performs with ensembles like Duo Encordé and Pulsar Quartet\, and has appeared as soloist i.a. with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra. \n\n\n\nShe recently won 3rd Prize at the 14th Martinez Guitar Duo Competition in Iserlohn 2025\, as well as the Audience Prize at the Mantovani International Guitar Festival 2025 and was a Finalist at the Aalborg Guitar Competition 2024. \n\n\n\nPassionate about guitar\, percussion and arranging\, Eva Victoria will pursue her Master’s studies as a Scholar at the Royal College of Music in London with Gary Ryan in September 2025. \n\n\n\nThis concert includes the world premiere of new IGF commission The Millipede is Walking by Cheryl Frances-Hoad and the second-ever performance of the 2025 IGF commission afterform by Laila Arafah.

DESCRIPTION:Composition Competition\n\n\n\nOwn arrangement or composition  \n\n\n\nFollowing the success of last year’s competition\, this month we have a special composition/arrangement competition. \n\n\n\nJudges: Francisco Correa\, Tony Lewis and Helen James. \n\n\n\nTerms and conditions apply! \n\n\n\n\nThe competition is only open to current BCGS members\n\n\n\nIt must be your own composition or arrangement\, written or finished in 2026\n\n\n\nFrom 2026\, AI-assisted compositions must be declared as such and accompanied with a declaration of how AI was used in the composition and your role in the creative process. Fully AI-generated compositions with no human role beyond prompting are not permitted.
